Okay first things first: There are two animes. Fullmetal Alchemist is the first anime that came out in 2003. It follows the manga to a point and then diverges and does its own thing (bc it had caught up with the manga so it was like…WELL I GUESS WE’LL WRITE OUR OWN THING). It’s still pretty good though. The ending is weird, but I still really liked it.

The second anime, the one I’ve made a few gifs of, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009), follows the manga entirely. That one is SUPER good. It’s longer and it feels so much more complete than the first one.

As to why I find it brilliant…man. One of the biggest reasons why is the narrative. It’s paced extremely well. It’s a shounen genre, so of course there is fighting and tons of action, but the story is never about that. I don’t know it’s hard to explain. It’s a lot of fun, but it has very serious dark moments and it just balances and flows together extremely well.

And then there are the characters. Oh characters. EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER. Good, bad. Major, minor. They are all solid characters and quite a few of them have their own philosophies. It’s also important to mention that this is a character driven story. It’a all about the people to the very last second.

I do not have a shop and I’ve never thought about making prints, but you’re the second person who has asked me about buying prints, so I’m starting to reconsider. • Favorite Friendship: Jax/opie. CHIBS/EVERYONe Tara/Gemma. Sometimes. Like there are times when Gemma tries to use tara but when theyr’e on even ground it’s good.
• Favorite Quote: I am not my father. I am not weak/ For the family/ IDK BUT TARA AND JAX AWLAYS TALK ABOUT FATE AND I LIKE THAT OKAY.
• Worst Character Death (if any): FUCK i won’t say if for spoiler reasons.
• This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: tARA AND JAX WHENEVER THEY’RE HAPPY.
• Saddest Moment: Tara going nuts in the hosptial room yelling at Jax. And when Jax and Tara ban Gemma from their kids. And when Gemma gets the shit beat out of her.
• Favorite Location: CLUB HOUSEEE. and jax’s house.

• Favorite Female Character: oh god please don’t make me pick. Like, it’s rare for a series to have more strong women then men. Seriously. I’m gonna have to go with Riza. Winry. idk. they always like battle off in my head.
• Least Favorite Character: FUUUU THIS IS LIKE WHAT. EVERYONE IN THIS SERIES IS SO GOOD. THE BAD GUYS ARE EVEN AWESOME IDK.

• This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: um. wow this is hard bc the happiest moments always end up being followed by the worst so. UM. sobs
• Saddest Moment: The whole ishbalan flashback. and anything hohenheim related makes me super sad. and like the whole flashback when mustang finds the bloody mess and meets ed and al for the first time. AND ENVY’S DEATH. and that incident with mustang near the end. Seriously, when I was reading that month by month and I was like NO lol this is joke right? no. NOt mustang. anyone but that. wow. WOW. i think i walked away and was like R U SERIOUS??? IS THIS REAL? IS THIS REAL ???
• Favorite Location: RUSH VALLEY. Gluttony’s stomach (lolsobs).
